Kind Words

It was a real delight when Nikki gave her talk, Reclaiming Play: The Leadership Power of Creativity at our senior female networking group event.  The concepts of play and creativity are tucked away into scarce personal time, if there is time for them at all!  Our professional lives are poorer for it.

Nikki reminded us of the power of thinking differently, approaching challenge from different perspectives and giving space to more playful pursuits to release stress and anxiety, which allows us to think more creatively.  Her down-to-earth, natural interpersonal style engendered a relaxed session complete with creative play activities providing some pertinent key messages around the value of spending time on more creative pursuits.

This book isn’t all its surface has you believe – and that makes it such a difficult book to review, as it’s so important that its secrets (revealed satisfyingly near the book’s end) hit you with the same punch that I felt. The whole book was very different, highly original, its construction impeccable, its characters enthralling – and I very much enjoyed it.

YES absolutely I cannot recommend highly enough. Nikki was a gift that came at exactly the moment I needed it and kept me on my writing path. Without Nikki I would have fallen by the wayside.

Loved the story. Loved exploring the different characters and their different backgrounds. Lots of twists and turns. Really interested in hypnotherapy & how it helped the characters. Really easy to read. Highly recommend.

It’s been so great working with you. It really gave me the kickstart I needed to finish my novel. I’ll never be able to thank you enough for that and all the support you’ve given me.

Mentoring Review

Before mentoring, I was struggling with confidence and constantly hitting blocks in my writing. From our very first session, Nikki asked the right questions that helped me realise I’d outgrown my original story and gave me permission to pivot. That moment alone unlocked everything.

Over the course of our sessions, I went from stuck to completing an 80,000-word first draft of a novel that was once just a “maybe someday” idea. Nikki’s guidance, strategies, and belief in me created 100% progress towards my goal and a 100% boost in happiness and confidence. I left each week feeling more empowered and equipped. It’s been an incredible experience.

Really great read with excellent twist in the tale. Gets you thinking and wanting to read it again. Would warmly recommend – entertaining, fun and aimed at a forgotten target market! Would make a fab book club read with plenty to discuss.

I love this podcast!  Nikki has a warm, friendly tone and comes across as really approachable.  It is easy to listen to and the guests are interesting and have different perspectives.  There is no ‘right’ way to be more creative and enhance your life and The Creative Switch embodies this.  Recommended.

Read in two sittings, a little short of 400 pages – and maybe that tells you what you most need to know. If women’s lives and the psychology of relationships are what you enjoy, then I’d recommend this book most highly – and, although the pace is steady, I found it a compelling read.

Nikki has the rare ability to listen and extract incredibly interesting information from her guests. Both as a listener of her podcast series and as a previous guest, the time flies listening to a conversation choreographed by Nikki delving into the creative spirit and personal motivations of her guests and keeps me coming back for more!

Before working with Nikki, I was all in a swirl! I wanted to get words on the page but couldn’t seem to manage it in a consistent way and had problems believing in myself. Nikki helped me think about the bigger picture and analyse all the behavioural habits that were impacting my writing. As a result, I now know how to get the most out of myself as a writer and have a list of solutions to turn to when I’m feeling in a slump. Her help has been invaluable!

A smart, informative podcast which focuses on how people switched their careers or lives to chase their creativity, or with guests who support others to do so. Nikki the host gives good space for her guests to share their stories and there is always something to take away from the episode. Highly recommended.

I wanted to read this slowly and savour the book. I did manage to do this. I left the last part to one night quite late and was very surprised by the ending. It was not what I was expecting. I really enjoyed the book and would read it over again – there was so much I am sure I missed with the different characters. A great read!

I have been able to build a regular writing habit. I have also completed creative writing courses, which has helped me a great deal towards achieving my writing goals. My novel is now well underway. I am thankful to Nikki for pushing me through my limiting beliefs and building enough confidence to take my creative journey to another level.

A good book for me is when it comes with me all around the house, when I want to reach the end, but equally I don’t want the book to finish. Plus, it feels like I am there in the story. I can visualise the characters, their environment and can see it all playing out in front of me. This was Pivotal for me. It is beautifully written, you get to know these female characters and seeing how their lives entwine with one another is done so very well. I didn’t see the ending coming and a bit like The Sixth Sense did for me, you finish with a number of questions and a desire to go back and read it again to see the clues. Highly recommend.
